Safety First, Hire an Electrician

When having an electrical issue, a professional should be called. Your safety, and the safety of your business might depend on it. Do not try to do it yourself, call a local electrician to do the job. The city of Josephine, Texas, has different types of electricians for hiring. The electrician you hire, depends on the job needed to be done. The two main electricians for you business needs are master electricians, and an industrial electrician. The type of business you own plays a factor in choosing which one.

Master Electrician

Master electricians are high up in their trade. Some may own their own business, or supervise for another company. While a college degree is not mandatory, it can be helpful. Most degrees are from a technical school, or community college. Next you have to finish an apprenticeship. This takes approximately four years without the degree, and two with one. The next step on the road to master, is becoming a licensed electrician. Passing a written exam is mandatory to receive your license. Either take more college courses, or get more on the job experience, to take the master electrician exam. Requirements set forth by each state, varies.

Industrial Electrician

Industrial electricians must have a high school diploma. It is recommended they have science, and math courses throughout high school. These types of electricians are in demand, with the technology of today. After high school they need to complete an apprenticeship, just like a master electrician. The amount of hours required for the completion of this is, 9000. After the hours are completed, an exam needs to be passed. Along with education and apprenticeship, they need to be able to work under undesirable conditions. There are times when the space to work in, is confined. Crawling into a spot that is tight, is not uncommon. Climbing machines has to be done at times.

The main jobs they do are repairing, maintaining, and testing electrical equipment. They work at several types of businesses. Some of them include manufacturers of motor vehicles, parts manufacturers, electrical firms, mining companies, and steel producers. If you own one of these types of businesses, an industrial electrician is the type you should call. Some industrial electricians, work full time for these types of companies. Others do contracting independently.

Everything Considered

After looking at what education and licensing an electrician needs, it should be safe to say they are worth hiring. We all know that electricity is not something to be played with. To ensure you are hiring an electrification that has a license, ask to see it. Make sure it is a current license. You will also want them to be insured and bonded. Ask for proof of this. To see that the electrician is confident with their work, ask about warranties. Ask if they are doing the job themselves, or if they have apprentices that will do it. If they have an apprentice doing the job, make sure they will be supervised. There are never too many questions, when it comes to safety.

Two circuits from the house out to a new gate, some 149 feet, and then wired new lights, power outlets, and a photo couple at the pole. One of the circuits was to feed the gate opener and another was for lights and outlets.

After securing several bids, Barney's was the most reasonable. Of the three bids, another electrician was about 600 dollars higher than Barney, and Rockwall Electric gave me an estimate for four thousand six hundred dollars for exactly the same work. Barney's quote was less than half that!

Well, any fool alive can make the decision to go with the lower bid, but it was more than that to me. Barney is just a down to earth guy, and his sidekick completes the pair - two dedicated guys serious about what they do and doing it right.

They made arrangements for the trenching and ensured it took place the same day they laid the conduit and ran the lines, and the trench was filled in before the end of the day. Given the rains here lately, that took coordination.

And the best part? It all worked the first time. Not many of the providers perform as expected the first time around. This one did. Hire HIM, you will not be sorry.

The motor for my pool pump burnt out. I bought a new one and installed it. It hummed but wouldn't turn. I called Barney. He was out the next day. He did a through check of the electric lines leading to the pump and the timer. All were good. A further check showed that the new motor was defective.
Great service as always. We use Barney for all of our electrical needs.
