This one question will eliminate all the faulty electricians you may come in contact with. Knowing if they have insurance and what it actually covers is very important before getting started on a big electrical job. Are you doing the work alone?

Knowing who exactly will be coming to do the work in your home needs to be addressed. Some contractors focus on other aspect of development so they bring in electricians to do specific work. If this is the case you have to make sure the person or persons they have are all licensed and covered by the companies insurance. If this is not the case you will need to make the decision if those are the people you want working on your home. Financially this may save you in the long run.

Is there a warranty on the work?

Recently moved into a new and house and needed some plugs moved on a couple of walls. Did a search and liked the reviews I found on Barney’s. Called and to my surprise Barney actually answered. He said he was on vacation and would have one of his guys give me a call. That happened and we set an appointment. To my surprise again got a call from his guy saying he had an opening a day earlier and wanted to know if he could come by. It didn’t work for me but on the original ally scheduled date there were 2 guys at my door 15 minutes early. Polite, courteous, and professional. Very reasonable prices as well. Highly recommend. I’ll call them first for all my future electrical needs.
